I've been having contractions today! I've been having them about every 15 - 20 minutes and lasting about 45 seconds - 1 minute. They've been going on for nearly 4 and a half hours.
We called L&D, but the nurse I spoke with didn't seem concerned at all. She told me not to come in until the contractions were 4 - 5 minutes apart and I was unable to walk or talk through them. I told her I was only 22 weeks along, but I guess that doesn't matter. She told me to lay back, increase my water intake, relax and take some Tylenol. She suggested a warm bath or a heating pad to my back since I was also having pain in my low back with the contractions. She said if they didn't ease off within several hours that I could come in to be examined.
I took Tylenol, have a heating pad to my back, and it's been just over 3 hours since I called L&D. I guess they are easing up some. I'm better able to relax a little anyway.
Praying to God that this is nothing at all. Everything is going to be alright.
