So many things going on right now. The trigger shot of hCG I got last Wednesday is really taking a toll on me this time. Last time, I didn't notice any side effects really. I noticed ovulation cramping, and then what must have been some implantation spotting and cramping, but that's all normal. This time however is another story.
It actually has made me feel like I'm pregnant. I'm seriously nauseated every morning. My breasts are so sore that even certain movements hurt; they feel heavy and weighted down. I feel bloated, have off and on heartburn (which I never get except for during my pregnancies), and some major fatigue. I'm also very emotional. I'm crying over everything!!!! The winner of the NASCAR race Saturday night, we caught the end of it, and he said some real sweet things about his mom. Now, please know that I don't know this racer, nor do I know his mother. Regardless, my lip began to tremble and tears began to flow. My poor husband doesn't know what to do with me right now! I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I'm not pregnant, it's much too soon yet, and I know that it's just the side effects of hCG. It just sucks to feel pregnant and not be pregnant.
Tomorrow is the big day. By that I mean that tomorrow is our first appointment with our reproductive endocrinologist (RE). He's at Duke and since that's an hour and a half from home, I want to be ready. I've got me a list of questions to ask too:
General Questions:
1. What are your hours of operation?
2. Who can we call if we have questions or problems after hours?
3. How do you monitor treatments and how often do you monitor them?
4. What are the hours of your lab?
5. What is your rate of success?
6. What type of costs are we looking at for specific treatments and medications?
7. Do we get our meds from you, or do you work with places such as Freedom Fertility?
8. Are there additional costs associated with phone calls to the office?
9. Do you offer any discounts or payment plans when necessary?
Specific Questions:
1. Would you suggest that we have my uterine fibroid removed?
2. What are the risks of fibroid removal and is it different than those of a D&C?
3. What can be done to help sustain a pregnancy now that we've figured out how to get pregnant?
4. Is it safe for me to still be on Clomid? What are your recommendations?
5. When should progesterone be started, after ovulation or after a BFP?
6. Does route of progesterone matter (PO, IM, or vaginal suppository)?
7. Does hCG absolutely force ovulation?
8. What tests do you think would be important for us at this point and in what order?
9. Should we actually test my progesterone level?
10. Should we be checking the quality of my eggs?
11. When I actually do ovulate, am I ovulating too late?
12. Do you feel my luteal phase is sufficient?
I'm sure there are many more questions, I just can't seem to think of anymore right now.
We've had my records faxed, we've copied all my temp charts, and we've mapped out the directions. All we need to do now is show up!
Wish us luck!
I hope it went great! I can't wait to hear (read) about it. And yes, that must be very frustrating to feel pregnant but not yet be pregnant. Hopefully it's a good sign....?
