Testing Out the Trigger....

What does this mean?  HPT's (Home Pregnancy Test's) test for levels of hCG in order to give you a positive or a negative.  Since I had a trigger shot of hCG this cycle, that means HPT's will come up positive until the trigger is out of my system.  Some ladies on BBC (BabyCenter.com) say they will test out their trigger till they get negatives, and then they'll know that when they get a positive again, it will be accurate for baby on board.  So, since Wednesday, I've been testing out the trigger.


I have several boxes of HPT's under my bathroom cabinet.  Whenever I get a coupon for some, I'll pick up a box (I get money off coupons from CVS when I go there).  I've been testing out my trigger using the oldest tests under my cabinet first, which are only a few months old at most, but I didn't want to use newer ones first.  So, what have I been seeing?

Wednesday February 23rd at 4 DPO:

It was a FRER (First Response Early Result) test, and as you can see, there is a pink "positive" line.  Remember, this is the hCG trigger shot showing, not an actual BFP.

Thursday February 24th at 5 DPO:

It too was a FRER (First Response Early Result) test, and the "positive" line is only visible at the top, if you look really hard.  So I'm thinking I'm getting lower in my hCG levels.

Friday February 25th 6 DPO:

This is an e.p.t. Early Pregnancy Test, and I don't see a "positive" + at all.  So now I'm thinking that the hCG is totally gone from my system.

Saturday February 26th 7 DPO:

Okay, so this is an e.p.t. digital early pregnancy test.  Pregnant, really?????

So, this can't be right.  I know this.  It's not logical.  So what did I miss????  Well, I used different tests each day.  Could this make a difference?  Let's see.

FRER:  Detects as early as 6 days before a missed period, and reads 6.3 miu.
e.p.t. Early Pregnancy Test:  Detects as early as 5 days before a missed period, and reads 25 miu.
e.p.t. Digital Early Pregnancy Test: Detects as early as 5 days before a missed period, and reads 25 miu.

Okay, so none of this answered any of my questions.  Guess I'll have to hold out till the end of the week and see if AF shows???   Oh I'm going to loose my mind by that time!!!  LOL
